30th anniversary
We are looking back on 3 decades of company history in which we have achieved a lot. We already have some things in mind for our development in the next decades.
Production continues to grow...
Our final assembly relocates again. A new factory building is completed. From now, the “old final assembly” will be used for repair and maintenance work on customer vehicles. We are also able to create two new building slots for our motor vehicle constructions.
Change of company name to FMS Fahrzeugbau GmbH
In 2012, we celebrated our 20th anniversary. This milestone and the idea of expressing our range of products with our name made us to change from M+S Baumechanik GmbH to FMS Fahrzeugbau GmbH.
New building for final assembly
The manufacturing area for our vehicles grows. The new building for the final assembly department is completed at the end of 2005.
New generation
Following founder Mr. Gerd Friemann’s passed away on 5th January 2003, M+S Baumechanik GmbH was taken over by his son and long-time employee Dirk Friemann.
Dirk Friemann was part of the company from the start, first as a maintenance mechanic and later as a qualified technical business economist.
Vehicle construction as a business division
Right from the start, the company was passionate about vehicle construction.
M+S Baumechanik GmbH begins to establish itself as a manufacturer and supplier in this sector.
M+S Baumechanik GmbH
On April 1st, 1992, today’s FMS Fahrzeugbau GmbH was founded by its first managing director Gerd Friemann and Hofmann GmbH based in Rellingen as “M+S Baumechanik GmbH”.
The company grounds at Steegener Chaussee 2 in Hagenow are already home of an administration building and several factory buildings. A solid foundation, which was built in the GDR by the predecessor business, a company for the maintenance of construction machinery. Gerd Friemann had been working here as production manager since the 1970s.
